About

The Tioga County Open Door Mission is a faith based organization and is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization. The Mission and its second location, The Red Door, have provided housing, clothing, food and other financial assistance to the disadvantaged and needy families in Tioga County and surrounding areas since 1968. The Mission supports the shelter and all of its outreach programs through the proceeds from its two thrift stores, grants, and private donations.

Owego Hours
Donations accepted Monday through Saturday from 9AM-4PM.

Our Outreach Department, which includes our food pantry,  is open 10-Noon, and 1-4:30 every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. The food pantry is also open every Saturday from 10AM-Noon.

Our Thrift Store is open Monday-Wednesday, Friday and Saturday: 8:30am-5:00pm, Thursday 8:30-8:00pm

Our Thrift shop offers 10,000 square feet of shopping! We have a clothing bag sale on Thursday nights from 5-7:30 PM. Grab a fabric bag from the front counter and fill it with clothing for just $12.50! 2 bags per customer--some items excluded.
*We welcome donations, and a truck is available for pick-up of furniture and appliance donations.  Other items can be dropped off at our covered donation area outside of our thrift shop between the hours of 9AM and 4:00PM.

We are open for your enjoyment! Our staff has recently renovated our shop, enlarging the cafe/meeting area. Come check out our new fresh look! Shop, visit with friends, or get on the WIFI... it's just a really cool place.

Enjoy a cup of delicious Finger Lakes coffee, or choose from a variety of tasty snacks to munch on as you browse the collection of books, jewelry, artwork, and household items.

Our popular 'Open Mic' night, an alternative to the bar scene,is on  Thursday nights and Saturday afternoons.  Everyone can bring their own instruments and jam together!
We host recovery meetings in our cafe 5 nights a week! The cafe is also available to rent on Friday evenings for a small fee.

We are always offering fun activities at The Red Door.  From game nights to movie nights, we're always doing something for the community!

We will gratefully accept donations at the Red Door during opening hours.  We accept gently used furniture, clothing, knick knacks, appliances, kitchenware, and so much more!  Be sure to check out our Do Not Accept list on our website under the "Give Today" heading before you come.
